Testimony

In April 2012 I had lost all hope. After being chased away from home and my mum made it hard for me to get help from relatives. I slept on the cold streets of Nairobi for atleast two days. I later reached out to a friend by the name Martin who introduced me to Mum Kagia. Mum listened to me, gave me warm embrace and told me that from that day I should call her mum. I was later taken to Kiota in Muranga. There I found other girls some were younger than me and some even older than me. We became sisters. We cherished every moment we shared and got to learn alot from each other and also from our house mothers. We would eagerly wait for the days our Mum Kagia plus other supporters of kiota would vist us because ya kuletewa tamu. On the 4th of July my baby girl came to this world. Today she is a loving adorable 12 year old that I thank God for. Anytime mum came to visit and there was a newborn she would come with a pastor to dedicate the newborn babies. And so when my child was being dedicated I also happened to give my life to christ. I got reunited with my mum after that. But since Mum kagia understood the relationship between me and My mum she kept contact even after I left Kiota. She was my Mum and never did I call her for anything that I needed and turned me down. She had a dream for all the girls she had helped to see them become somebody. To all parents pregnancy should not make you throw away or throw out your girls. Remember the boy or man that impregnates them does not go through the same trauma. Not many will be lucky to have a Kagia in their life. So instead of abortion or death lets learn to handle the girls with lots of love. Since out of experience we have witnessed the anger and hate disappear after the baby is born. I pray and hope that the dream she had will not go with her. Thank you mum Kagia Kiota was our home and rescue. A home of hope and a home of love. Your were our angel here on earth and we are sure you have just joined the other angels in heaven. Rest in peace mum.
